FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where are you based?

I am located in Glenelg, Adelaide, South Australia in my home studio, the studio is child/parent/friend friendly! I will still be travelling for bridal bookings.

What are your contact details?

Email: summerwannanmua@gmail.com

In previous years I have given out my personal phone number, if you still have this please avoid using it and only contact me via email for all booking enquiries.

How much do you charge?

Please check my service menu here

Do you require a deposit?

Yes, a deposit is required when securing your booking online. Please note, the deposit is NON-REFUNDABLE and NON- TRANSFERABLE to another date/person. If you have already booked an appointment and would like to change time slots, please contact me and I will let you know if an earlier/later appointment is available.

Can I book  a group appointment online?

One appointment is allocated per person every 45 minutes, if you would like to book in multiple people everyone will need to make individual bookings each with their own deposit. If you would like an appointment before/after your friend just select the appointments 45 minutes apart (eg 11.30 & 12.15).

Can you just do my eye makeup?

Unfortunately not sorry, all makeup application bookings are for a full face of makeup but can be created as natural or dramatic as you desire.

Are you experienced/qualified?

I have completed my Certificate II in Retail Makeup and Skincare and have been working as a freelance makeup artists for almost six years. I specialise in bridal/event/glamour makeup.

What hours do you work?

I am currently available for makeup appointments Fridays and Saturdays. Unfortunately I no longer work Sundays.

What products do you use?

Brands in my kit include Hourglass, MAC, Mecca, Inglot, Nars, Stila, Tarte, Laura Mercier, Becca and Charlotte Tilbury.

How long will it take?

Regular event makeup application will take 45 minutes, appointments are scheduled back-to-back so please ensure you are on time for your appointment. Trials and bridal application will take approximately 1- 1.5 hours to ensure every detail is perfect.

Can you come to my hotel room?

Unfortunately as I no longer travel to clients I will not be able to travel to your hotel room for your appointment.

Should I have a trial?

If you have a big event coming up such as a formal, birthday or particular special occasion it is completely up to you to get a trial. For weddings, I would most definitely recommend a trial a few months prior. Trials are an important time to deconstruct the look you want to achieve, making sure every element perfectly emphasises your features. We will get a sense of the harmony of the look in relation to your hair, dress, theme and personal style. It is also a great opportunity to meet to ensure you are comfortable on your big day.

What do I bring to my trial?

- A few images for makeup inspiration or a picture of a look you would specifically like to re-create.

- Please wear clothing similar to the colours on the day of your event (It helps!)

- Any other material that demonstrate the style/theme of your wedding/event

What do I wear to my booking?

Please wear a button up/zip shirt or jumper to avoid pulling it over your face which may alter/damage your makeup. Please do not wear the clothing you will be wearing to the event in the unlikely case that a mascara wand is dropped or product spills. If you would like contouring/highlighting on your chest, shoulders and collarbones I suggest wearing a strapless top to your appointment.

How can I prepare for my booking?

1 week before - Have any facial waxing/threading done to avoid irritated skin/patches.

1 night prior - Use a gentle facial scrub to exfoliate and apply plenty of moisturiser.

30 mins prior - Cleanse face and do NOT apply any lotions. Please tie your hair back and arrive to your appointment promptly to avoid having time cut short.

What about allergies/skin conditions?

PLEASE contact me prior to your appointment if you have any kind of allergies/sensitivities. If you are having any conditions such as rashes, conjunctivitis, cold sores, warts or infections you MUST let me know on your cient intake form when making your booking. It is your responsibility to tell me if there is anything I cannot visibly see, including a cold/flu. I may be able to work around some conditions but anything severe I would NOT recommend booking an appointment as you may be refused service.
